Eva and Dustin’s intimate, vintage, desert elopement was held out in the middle of Arizona’s Saguaro National Park. When they asked me to be their elopement photographer I was so excited and fell in love with their wedding day vision. The roads to the site were closed a couple weeks before their date but the park graciously gave them a gate key so they could still go ahead with their ceremony plans. This meant we had that whole section of the park to ourselves! Eva and Dustin got dressed and ready in their vintage camper that they rebuilt together and then later took to Joshua Tree for their honeymoon. Both of them travel for a living – Eva is a traveling nurse and Dustin is a wildland firefighter, so planning their elopement out in an adventurous and remote location felt absolutely perfect. Surrounded by miles of open Tucson desert, saguaro cacti, three of their closest family members, and their beloved dog, Eva and Dustin read their heartfelt vows to one another and committed to forever. Later in the evening, coyotes yipped and howled in the distance as the Arizona sun set and we ate from a delicious charcuterie board and a lamb and mint jelly dish that Eva’s mother made. Their elopement day felt like it perfectly reflected who Eva and Dustin are and it was an honor to witness and photograph the love they have after 10 years together. Here’s to many more decades of adventurous love!
